Michael Klinger served in the Peace Corps from 1979 to 1981 in the town of Guidan Roumji, Niger. He was an English and Physical Education teacher. Over the years he stayed in touch with multiple colleagues in Niger and returned in 2007 to meet with friends and town officials. During his visits with Village Elders, the Headmaster and later the Mayor, the citizens talked about their basic needs for food, water, sanitation and school materials. Michael felt that with the help of schools, the business community and friends in Acton and the surrounding areas, he could help facilitate satisfying the basic needs of Guidan Roumji. He started the work of Bokai Inc. in 2008.
